• Virtues of giving in the way of Allaah the Exalted
“The charity of those who expend their wealth in the Way of Allah may be likened to a grain of corn, which produces seven ears and each ear yields a hundred grains. Likewise Allah develops manifold the charity of anyone He pleases, for He is All-Embracing, All-Wise.” (Surah Baqarah, V:261) “Those who spend of their goods (in charity) by night and by day in secret and in public shall have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.” (Surah Baqarah, V:274) “And be steadfast in prayer and regular in charity: and whatever good you send forth for your souls before you; you shall find it with Allah; for Allah sees well all that you do.” (Surah Baqarah, V:110)
• Call from the Noble Messenger of Allaah (Allaah bless him & grant him peace)
The Noble Messenger of Allaah (Allaah bless him & grant him peace) said “A man giving a dirham as sadaqah (charity) during his life is better than giving one hundred dirhams as charity at the moment of his death.” The Noble Messenger of Allaah (Allaah bless him & grant him peace) said “Among what continues to accrue for a believer of his good works after death are the following: knowledge that he learned and then imparted to others, a pious child whom he left behind, a copy of the Quran that he bequeathed, a Masjid that he built, a guest house he built for travellers, a river that he made to flow, and charity he spends from his wealth when he is in good health – all of this continues to avail him after his death.” The Noble Messenger of Allaah (Allaah bless him & grant him peace) said “Whosoever builds a Masjid for Allaah, then Allaah will build for him a house like it in Paradise”
